About

Our hero, Bacon

Bacon was rescued from a puppy mill in Missouri in April 2011.  He arrived at 2am on a Monday morning in the back of an SUV with a dozen other rescues.  Bacon was in pretty rough shape when he got here.  He was pathetically thin and clumps of his hair fell out every time I touched him.   His teeth were a MESS and his breath stank (I know dog breath isn't great, but his breath smelt like sulphur).  He also shook constantly.  Because he was so skinny and his teeth so bad, I immediately put him on soft food, with meals every 2-3 hours.

For the first few weeks he came with me to work every day so I could feed him.  Despite total lack of housing training, he won over everyone at the office as well as a lot of clients.

After a few months of good food and lots of TLC, Bacon is practically a new dog.  His coat has grown in thick and shiny, his breath is 'better', and his eyes have stopped watering as much.  Bacon loves his food and  eats like a champ.  He now has tons of energy and enjoys sniffing around outside, sleeping on his blankets and generally just being adorable.

Bacon will soon be going in for dental extractions, a microchip (ISO) and have a lumpectomy.
